I cried all damn night reading it and then cried watching the movie and then I got into edge greyscale tumblr to work through my feelings. I read the whole series in two days and the fact it pretty much singlehandedly reminded me why I loved reading means it had to make the list.Ģ014: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green: You CANNOT underestimate the way this book impacted me at 14 years old. For about three years I didn’t read anything and this book/series is what got me back into reading. I cried all night while reading this and it holds a really special place in my heart.Ģ013: The Foxhole Court by Nora Sakavic: Here’s where we get into ~most influential~ and not ~best~ because a lot of Great books came out this year but … The Foxhole Court impacted me the most. After reading this I wanted to read more and more non-fiction, and it hugely shaped my reading since 2016.Ģ012: Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sāenz: This is one of the first queer YA books I ever read and it was one that meant so much to me. This series had a big impact on my reading taste as a young teen and was so influential this decade in general.Ģ011: Sapiens – A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari: This is an incredibly popular book but it made the list because it is what got me into non-fiction.
